This Week's Fan Fight (May
22-28)
"Who
Are Boxing's Biggest & Best Rivals?"
|
|
Current Result: Blue: 0,
Red: 0 |
|
Blue Corner:
Warrior (2-0, 2 KO's) -
Ali/Frazier
Red Corner: YungGun (0-1) - Barrera/Morales |
|
-Round 1 - |
Blue:
"In boxing history there
have been some great rivalries down through the years but one
rivalry stands out above all the others in boxing history and in
sports history, Ali-Frazier. The two men had a dislike for each
other with Ali’s taunts getting under Frazier’s skin and this led to
three ferocious fights between the pair and even to this day they
both swap insults at each other some thirty five years after their
first bout.
In the
lead up to their first fight Ali had come back from his three year
exile with victories over Quarry and Bonevena and had never lost the
title he won against Sonny Liston in the ring. Ali said since his
title had never been taken from him in the ring he should be
recognised as the true heavyweight champion of the world. During
Ali’s exile Joe Frazier beat Jimmy Ellis for the title that had been
stripped off Ali for his refusal to fight in the Vietnam war. So
going into their fight both had legitimate claims to be called the
heavyweight champion of the world. This led to the most anticipated
fight in boxing history and was dubbed “fight of the century”. The
fight itself more than lived up to its billing with an awesome
performance from both fighters in the ring with Frazier scoring a
knockdown in the last round and he took the decision after fifteen
breathtaking rounds. After the fight Ali’s face was more marked than
in any of his previous bouts with the whole right side of his face
swollen courtesy of Frazier’s powerful left hook. Frazier who won
the fight was in such bad condition that he spent nearly three
months in hospital rehabilitating. This fight got the attention and
interest of people who normally wouldn’t watch boxing and coupled
with Frazier and Ali’s difference in personality and ring style took
boxing to a new level.
During
the time between their first and second bout, Frazier lost the title
to Foreman and Ali won and lost to Ken Norton. Ali had been goading
Frazier to get back into the ring with him ever since his defeat in
the first fight and it made sense for them to fight each other again
now with the winner to go on to face Foreman in a match for the
heavyweight title. In the build up to this fight both Ali and
Frazier went on a talk show to hype their rematch. While watching
highlights of their first fight, Ali repeatedly taunted Frazier. Joe
was stung by the criticism and Ali’s quick wit angered him to the
point were he left his seat and faced up to Muhammad. Joe asked him
why he was picking on him and Ali stood up and a brawl took place,
which needed both fighters to be restrained. The second fight was
also a great fight and is sometimes overlooked because the title
wasn’t at stake and it didn’t quite reach the level of their first
and third fight. Ali got his revenge in this fight and nearly
stopped Frazier in the second only for the referee to end the round
by early by mistake when Joe was in trouble. The break in action
allowed Frazier the time he needed to gather himself together.
Frazier fought his way back into the fight but Ali took the decision
after the twelve rounds. Frazier protested at Ali’s holding and
clinching during the fight and felt he should have got the verdict.
They were now one win apiece and I will discuss how the level of
hate grew outside the ring and also their third fight, the most
brutal in boxing history in the next round. Barrera and Morales may
have been the best rivals in the last ten years of boxing but
looking back on the sport as a whole there were no two men with the
rivalry of Ali-Frazier"

Travis Landon KO
1 Ryno |
|
Blue Corner:
Travis Landon
(0-1) -
Jack Johnson
Red Corner: Ryno (2-0) -
Vinny Pazienza |
|
-Round 1 - |
Blue:
"Vinny Paz you say? Wasn’t expecting that
in the least. Interesting choice so let the games begin and expect your
0 to go by the end of this fan fight. Quite simply being honest.
Outside a limo accident and DUI’s, Vinny Paz has a pretty normal life.
His ring antics, while fun to watch are equal to Ricardo Mayorga’s come
to think about it. Jack Johnson, as you all probably know was the first
black heavyweight champion. With that during his time brought him more
infamy than anything else. The fight to get the title away from him
came up with “The Great White Hope”. Is it just me or is Nelly Furtado
hot? Not as hot a J-Lo. Ok back to the fight, Jack Johnson was very
flamboyant and married white women at a time when it was looked down
upon. Then he drove these women crazy and they killed themselves. Not
a laughing matter. They say that Johnson loved to party and enjoyed
being part of high society until the Mann Act put him in jail for 10
months and ultimately drove him for the country where he defend the
title like a true world champion, around the world. Johnson would race
cars, much like many other athletes these days. They say Burgess
Meredith raced his car on the freeway over 100 mph and the only reason
why he didn’t get arrested or ticketed is because he would through a
huge party for all the California police officers each year. Why is
that important, it isn’t and Meredith was an actor not an athlete who
played Mick on Rocky. Any back to Johnson, who has to be the OG pimp
daddy for going down to the Mann Act because that law was passed to
prevent men from transporting minor women across state lines for immoral
purposes. Actually Johnson was arrested for this because they were
trying to take what they could take in the ring. Reminds of that boxer
Will Smith played in that long movie about Muslims. Yeah I’m talking
about Ali. Too bad for the whiteness back then as Johnson dressed like
a Negro league baseball player and escaped through Oh Canada and then to
Europe. My cell phone is ringing and should probably go answer it and
get back to work. Ok final ECW champ, go for it with the Pazmanian
Devil. Remember the Devil and Mr. Jones, Roy Jones-Vinny Paz, that was
a great performance by Jones, can’t believe I actually paid for it
though, just like the way so many loney hormonal teenagers, but that’s
another story."

Your Winner By KO In Just 13 SECONDS...

Travis, a quick fight, did you expect more?
Travis Landon:
First off I would like to thank Sweetchuck for showing me
this website at work, ah getting paid to surf the net! Yes I expected a
lot more from Ryno given his history. Clown? Who's the clown now? He
makes me laugh at his ignorance, who doesn't know the Nelly Furtado's
hot, look at that picture they had on myspace all this time.
Ryno? How many fingers am I holding up?
Ryno:
Who are you,
Larry Merchant? Go back to your Scotch if you are. I trained hard for
this fight, I was doing my research, I had a strong argument lined up.
There's been personal issues in my life, and it got in my way of the
fight. It clouded my head and I got worked. This punk landed lucky. I'm
going to talk to my management team, learn and recover from this KO, but
I want a rematch. He won't be so lucky next time. I'll look into
activating the rematch clause, so keep an eye open, PUNK.

Warrior KO 2
The Killer |
|
Blue Corner:
The Killer (Fan Fight Debut) -
Winky Wright
Red Corner: Warrior (1-0, 1 KO) -
Antonio Margarito |
|
-Round 1 - |
Blue: "Yo Winky Wright the most
ducked fighter ever. He's the best, thats why no one wants to fight him.
Its no mystery that he makes everyone look foolish by outboxing them for
a full 12 rounds, even shutting them out and never getting hit. Great
fighters find out the hard way. Winky isnt a profitable name and his
style isnt a money maker either, 2 more reasons he's been ducked. He's
had to settle for rematches and even tripple fights just to stay active
because top fighters have made it clear not to mention his name, or that
they plan on never fighting Winky. He barely has a recognizable name on
his record and thats not because he chooses to fight bums, but because
no one will fight him and that's his only choice. AND, once he does get
a shot at a name opponent, he gets robbed of clear victory, thats bull.
Fernando Vargas of course and he has refused a rematch, even when Winky
got the titles and Vargas had none. So in actuality, Wright only has 2
legit losses, both close scoring fights making him one fighter with a
great record. Fighting Shane Mosley and beating him rather easy put the
seal on the deal for other fighters to step back since Mosley was coming
off a win over the one and only, Oscar Delahoya. And then, another
fighter holding a win over Oscar, was Felix Trinidad, who was the
favorite going into the Wright fight and was totally dismantled from
beginning to end in an easy boxing lesson by Wright. I commend Trinidad
and Mosley for stepping up. Those are the only 2 who have and took their
whoopings like men. Names on the list seems never ending that duck and
dodge from a Wright fight. Delahoya, Margarito, Hopkins, Vargas, Echols,
Allen, Forrest, Mayorga, Santos, Simms, Spinks, Eastman, all of them
refuse a Winky fight. All top fighters. Felix Sturm and Jermain Taylor
may be the only 2 who are bold enough to take the fight, all others fail
to even mention him. You picked Margarito who has his own duckers, but
even I mentioned him ducking Wright, so it kind of contradicts your
pick, a ducked fighter ducking? Doesnt look good."
|
Red:
"I will start by ripping your whole
argument to pieces. Your first round is full of contradictions and
some points that are just plain wrong. If you picked Winky Wright as
one of the most ducked and avoided fighters before the Vargas fight
then you would have had a point. You say nobody wants to fight him
but in his very next fight he is going up against Jermain Taylor who
is recognised as the middleweight champion following his wins over
Hopkins. Hardly facing a nobody now is he. Another reason you say
why Wright is getting ducked is because of his normally unexciting
style but then why is Margarito getting ducked when he is one of
the, if not the most exciting fighters in the world today.
You wrote that fighters don’t want to
go up against him because they think they will be out boxed over the
twelve rounds and get frustrated at times when they cant land many
punches. This type of defeat may hurt their ego and they can also
use the excuse that Wright’s style was too tricky for them. When a
fighter loses to Margarito they can have no excuses because he
stands in front of them and literally beats beats them up before
normally knocking them out. This is the worst type of defeat for a
fighter when they get beaten up for a few rounds and then knocked
out. Normally fighters are not the same after these types of defeats
and this is the reason you don’t hear any of the big names calling
Margarito out, as their career unlike a defeat to Wright may never
be the same again.
I agree that Wright is a top fighter
and thought he beat Vargas by a couple of points, not a clear-cut
victory as you say. Against Mosely he won clearly the first time,
but the second fight most people felt was very close and not “rather
easy” as you said. The question is not who is the better fighter but
who is being ducked and avoided more. To tackle another of your
points you said after he beat Mosely for the second time “it put the
seal on the deal” for other fighters to avoid him. Do you actually
know that in his very next fight he fought Felix Trinidad who at the
time was the hottest property in boxing following his demolition of
Mayorga. Tito had no reason to take the Wright fight and this again
is another example of Wright not being avoided. The reason Wright is
being ranked so high at the moment is because of his performances
against some of the big names in the sport. Margarito is not getting
the same opportunities as he is being avoided by all the top
fighters around his weight class at the moment who are quite happy
to mention each other’s names but you never hear the name Margarito.
You also claim that Margarito was
ducking Wright, which is again wrong. As you can see from the
picture below Wright and Margarito met at a boxing event. This was
just before Winkys second fight with Mosely and he gave Antonio his
word that he would fight him next. As I said before, the Trinidad
fight then came about for Wright and Margarito was once again left
in the dark. It was not Margarito backing out of a fight with Wright
that stopped this fight from happening but Wright going after bigger
money, so your misinformed yet again.

The point that kills your argument off
completely was when you said Wright has barely a recognised name on
his record. What??? He has fought Harry Simon and then a couple of
fights later Fernando Vargas. They were both losses but then after
rebuilding has gotten the big fights. In fact there have not been
many other fighters who have taken on the level of competition that
Wright has over the last three years, Mosely twice, Trinidad and
Taylor in his next fight. This is not the record of the most avoided
fighter currently active but the record of a fighter who is taking
on bigger names than maybe anyone else in the sport at the moment.
Even if he loses to Taylor, it should be close, he will get an
immediate rematch or if he wins, as is the most likely outcome then
he can look forward to plenty more big fights over the next couple
of years. All the time Margarito waits frustrated as big name after
big name refuses to fight him. He is without question the worlds
most avoided fighter. If this response hasn’t at least got you
seeing stars then it has you in a deep sleep."

Round 1, Warrior and Killer square off in the center of the ring. Killer
initiates the attack right away with a right hand that gets Warriors
attention. Killer showing some good upper movement, but back comes
Warrior with a right hand of his own that backs Killer to the ropes.
Warrior ducks down and comes up with a huge uppercut that lands on the
chin of Killer and DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWN GOOOOOOEEEEEEEEES
KIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLEEEEEEERRR,
seconds into the fight. 4...5...he's up on 6 and his eyes are wide.
Referee wipes his gloves off and Warrior comes right in with some huge
hooks that catch Killer. Killer now trying to get away catches another
right hand as he's moving back and he staggers to the corner. Warrior
throwing shots from all angles here and Killer has no choice but to hold
his guard up high. Warrior all over Killer. Killer tries to throw a
right hand of his own to show he's still in the fight and Warrior
counters him with another right hand and DING DING!
* 10-8 Round To Red * - 1 Knockdown
|
|
- Round 2 - |
Red: "You somehow made it out of
the last round but this round im going in for the kill. In the last
round I focused more on showing up the mistakes in your argument and
giving the reasons why Winky is not the most avoided fighter in the
world. This round I will put forward my argument for Margarito. Antonio
lost three fights in his first two years as a pro, all by decision. It
is not uncommon for Mexican fighters to turn pro without much amateur
experience and they tend to learn the pro game as they go along.
Margarito was rugged when he began boxing and though he is not the most
skilful fighter in the world now, he is a much more complete fighter.
However after these three defeats he went unbeaten for eight years with
his only defeat coming against Daniel Santos (who outweighed him by ten
pounds on fight night) and that was due to a clash of heads and losing a
technical decision. The fight with Santos which took place at light
middleweight,
incidentally in a bid for him to get to fight Wright next which again
rubbishes your claim that he avoided Wright. At welterweight he is
unbeaten for nearly ten years.
In preparation for his fight against Sergio Gabriel Martinez, who by the
way was unbeaten going into the fight and has yet to lose since,
Margarito was a sparring partner for Oscar De La Hoya. Margarito stopped
Martinez in seven rounds. Oscar praised Margarito at the time but never
mentioned Margarito's name as a future opponent despite Antonio calling
him out. It makes you wonder what exactly happened in sparring. De La
Hoya for his comeback could have fought him in a more competitive fight
than against Mayorga if he wanted to really prove himself to fans. He
never mentioned Antonio and even if Margarito drank beer and smoked
cigars in the ring and made comments about Oscar's wife, he still
wouldn't have got picked. The simple reason being that Margarito was a
bigger test but he felt confident he would win against Mayorga.
This leads nicely into another fighter who has ducked Margarito, yes the
Nicaraguan wild man himself Mayorga. Ricardo Mayorga had beaten Andrew
"I need the toilet" or as he was then know "six heads" Lewis in five
rounds. After a first round comeback win Lewis then challenged Margarito
who beat
him in two rounds. Another sign of Margarito wanting to take on the best
opponents available to him was after the defeat of Lewis when he and his
corner men put on t-shirts with a picture of Mayorga on it with a wanted
sign. Could he have called out Mayorga in a more public way? Not
surprisingly yet again Margarito gets avoided as Mayorga went in search
of other fights.
Margarito finally got what he thought would be his breakthrough fight
against Kermit Cintron. Kermit was 24-0 with 22 knockouts going in. In a
fight that looked even going in, Margarito absolutely demolished Cintron,
scoring four knockdowns and leaving Cintron with a closed and bloodied
right eye. Cintron after taking a second knockdown in the fifth looked
to his corner who called the fight off. This win as good as it was seems
to have harmed Margarito, as what promoter would put his rising star in
the ring with a fighter like this who so brutally beats his opponents.
Again all the top names are able to call each other out but Antonio
never gets a look in. Just last Saturday at the De La Hoya- Mayorga
fight, Ricky Hatton a genuine nice guy met Floyd Mayweather at ringside.
Hatton never made any derogatory remarks about Floyd yet when Ricky went
to shake Mayweather's hand, Floyd refused and a minor altercation
occurred. Later that night Margarito walked
straight up to Floyd and shook his hand. Floyd showed nothing but
respect and actually seemed slightly intimidated. Margarito asked
through an interpreter why Floyd wouldn't fight him and Mayweather made
the excuse that he has it planned down the line.
It says something when the top pound for pound fighter on being offered
the biggest sum of his career turns down the fight on the chance he will
get Oscar next. There surely would be even a way for Mayweather to fight
Margarito and Oscar to take another fight to set up a fight between the
winners early next year, but no Margarito is just too much of a threat
and is once again AVOIDED. Margarito has the Thomas and Mack centre
reserved for a big Margarito fight on the 12th of August this year but
none of the big names have expressed an interest in taking on this
criminally avoided and ducked fighter. At the moment he is the hardcore
boxing fans welterweight champion and it is a shame at that he cant
break into the mainstream as he may be the best welter in the world and
one of the most exciting fighters in any division"

As The Killer Has Decides To Take A Knee For The Full 10 Count.
Your Winner By KO...WWWAAAARRRRRIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR!!
Warrior, another impressive win. What are your thoughts on this and
where do you plan to go from here?
Warrior:
The killer hardly lived up to his name. Wont diss him too
much as he was coming up against the future champ. I want to take out
Enzo and I don't think he would make it out of the first couple of
rounds like my
previous two opponents. Jas might be a decent fight but I have the
formula to beat him.
Neckodeemus wants his coming out fight, interpret that as you will to be
against me. I would prefer to make it a title fight so I will be hunting
down this prisoner chump. If I go up against prisoner I can assure you
he will get a bigger pounding on here than he would during his stint in
the cells. The old ice bucket should come in handy for him to sit in. I
will be back soon, whenever there is a boxing point I want to argue and
I feel I need to address .Im slicing through this list of fraud fighters
like a hot knife through butter. Later man, the soon to be ordained
champ
Killer, was he just too much for you?

"Ok Oscar nuthugger, you want to try to tell me Oscar still has
enough to defeat Mayorga? Please! Wipe the crap stuck on your
nose from kissing Oscar’s rear. You want me to come at you with
facts? How about Vernon Forrest? He thought he could easily
outbox Ricardo, but what did he get…Leather all over his
face…Twice! And Andrew Lewis, the fighter with so much
potential? Mayorga hit him so hard he’s still crapping his
trunks in the ring. Look man, Oscar in his prime could not keep
punches from landing on him as he went up in weight, Pernell
Whitaker, Shane Mosley, Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad. De La Hoya
has not always been a when the going gets tough type fighter.
He’s not as slick as Cori Spinks so don’t expect to see the same
thing that Spinks did. Spinks fought like the Prince dancer he
resembled coming out. That fight was a fluke, if the ref didn’t
deduct points it would have been a draw. Oscar has no answers
for this one like you have no valid answer for this fan fight so
go to Golden Boy’s website and if you’re nice enough maybe
they’ll give you an autographed picture of Vicente Escobado the
guy who is most like a young De La Hoya!"
|
Red: "You don't need to
be an "Oscar nuthugger" to know DeLaHoya will win this fight.
Since when is Mayorga anything special? Oscar is the only one
with any skill between the two, Mayorga is just wild. Look at
his fights where he had a skilled fighter infront of him, he
lost. Vernon only fought the wrong fight the first time, but
Mayorga has shown he has nothing but a tough attitude. Trinidad
isnt the most skilled figther out there, and DeLaHoya proved
that by outboxing him through 12 rounds, yet he was able to
destroy Mayorga himself. You are also mentioning fighters like
Pernell, Ike, and Tito who all lost to Oscar, so that backfired
on you. And Oscar really won the 2nd fight with Shane, no matter
what you say. Mayorga is all hype, you are going on like he's
superman. Who has he beat other than Vernon? No one. And talk
about "fluke", Mayorga couldnt do the same in the rematch and
was proved to have very little boxing ability in a close fight
that could have gone either way. He's no good to be honest.
Oscar may not have a lot left, but you dont need much to take
out Mayorga, and with a possible rematch with Trinidad or a
match-up with Floyd later this year already being talked about,
then there is 100% chance Oscar will win on the cards, even if
he loses like he did to Sturm, see, Now you know Im not speaking
out of my ass because I know when a fighter gets robbed, and
Oscar did in the Tito and Mosley rematch, but Sturm was in his
with Oscar in order to save the Hopkins fight. And believe me,
Mayorga is no Hopkins. Idf this were Wright we were talking
about, then that's a different story, but we are talking about
Mayorga. A ZERO."
|
Round 1 begins between
these two and right away Travis bulls in with some hooks to the
head to back Cheapo up to the ropes. Some roughhouse tactics
provided by Travis get a slim warning. Some good exchanges
between the two, however Cheapo was right about the half-way
"backfire" use of opponents that despite they put up great
fights with DeLaHoya, (with the exception of Mosley & Trinidad)
they lost to DeLaHoya.
*10-9 Round To Red * Good Close
Round
|
| - Round
2 - |
Red: "Ok, now lets get
into each others career. Oscar still has his critics, but the
fact is, he has been in with some of the best, never ducking
them, and win or lose, that counts as a lot. Mayorga basically
just BURST onto the scene out of nowhere. An expected tuneup for
Andrew Lewis turned into disaster for him twice, and Mayorga's
crazy attitude got him a shot at Vernon who he beat twice. Since
then he lost to Corey Spinks, who was no one really, won a fight
vs. a nobody named Eric Mitchell that was too close to call, got
horribly beaten by Trinidad in his comeback fight, then beat
Michele Picirillio who has absolutly no recoginalble names on
his recrod other than Corey Spinks. So try and compare that to
DeLaHoya's opponents list. Undefeated at the time Jimmi Bredahl,
John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genero Hernandez, CHAVEZ TWICE,
Whitaker, Camacho, Rivera, QUARTEY, Carr, TRINIDAD, MOSLEY
TWICE, GATTI, VARGAS, and even undefeated STURM! Let alone
Hopkins. Yeah, those names compare to "corey spinks and eric
mitchell" I laugh at that."
|
Blue: "Look at Oscar’s
career? Most of Oscar’s career was him measuring his food like
an anorexic model fighting guys at the end of their careers in
weight divisions he had little business in. Look at Mayroga’s
record. All of his fights were scheduled for at least 10
rounds. Spinks was a unification bout, something Oscar rarely
had. Calling Spinks a nobody is incorrect because he is a
former undisputed welterweight champion who will most likely win
another world title in another weight division. Mayorga was not
a tune up for Six Turtle Heads Lewis, he was his mandatory. Get
your facts straight! Of the fighters you mentioned the only
ones who he beat that went on to win world titles were Gatti
(manufactured, Tsyzu was considered the undisputed champ) and
Hernandez. Mayorga has not fought the names De La Hoya has
because he’s not the draw that forced these guys to be calling
De La Hoya’s name. Mayorga did not train for Trinidad, look
when a guy is going through a rape trial, they can’t be worried
about fighting a legend. Mayorga was still able to knock down
Trinidad, something De La Hoya couldn’t do. De La Hoya is 1-2
in his last three. He lost to Mosley, that’s how it goes down
in the record books and in De La Hoya’s mind. Oscar said he
couldn’t beat Mosley so give it up, he lost. You are worse than
an Oscar nuthugger for that comment you would probably try to
breastfeed off of De La Hoya. Plus, judges, reconsider your
scoring the last round as he got his facts wrong again saying
Trinidad lost to De La Hoya. You’re not even in the same league
as I am. You’re like the Sly Stallone of fan fight saying this
is a great fight and deserves a rematch after the first minute
of a fight. The backfired comment, please, I didn’t say he
lost, I said they were able to hit him. Quartey knocked down De
La Hoya, hell, Narcisco Valenzuela knocked De La Hoya down! If
Oscar is hit square he will go down and out. Saying Mayorga has
no skill is not watching his last fight with former WORLD
CHAMPION Michele Piccirillo. When Mayorga stopped trying to
knock him out around the eighth round, Mayorga started boxing,
slipping punches and boxing. Educated boxing fans who watched
that fight knew he added a new dimension to his arsenal.
Considering boxing is as much of a mental game as physical,
Mayorga has mastered getting into his opponents’ heads enough to
take them out of their game. Go ahead and laugh and get you
block knocked off like Oscar this weekend and I know you'll be
crying yourself to sleep."

Blue: "Look man, your
ramblings and firing off records doesn’t prove anything. You
need bitch slapped like Mayorga did to De La Hoya at the press
conference. Mayorga has been playing head games ever since they
signed for the fight. The kicker is the fact that Oscar is
falling into the trap or getting into fights at press
conferences and such. Hype or good strategy from both? A
motivated Mayorga will not take a beating like he did against
Trinidad. Oscar is a very smart businessman and has picked his
fights very carefully in the last few years like Sugar Ray
Leonard. Oscar is seeing green in this fight, money and a WBC
belt. Mandatory? How much did he pay for that considering he
has not fought in 154 for his last two fights which were title
fights. Oscar is looking at this fight like he’s going to win a
tough but easy bout, take a title and go on to fight Mayweather
or Vargas. Already looking past Mayorga as if it’s a done
deal. Mayorga is hungry. If Mayorga got his $8 million I can
believe he wouldn’t come with it as much, but since he’s not
getting anywhere near what he’s worth, he’s coming to knock
Oscar’s head in the fourth row and get his rematch with Trinidad
which reports show that Trinidad would fight Mayorga again if
Mayorga wins. If that isn’t proper motivation, I don’t know
what is. The fight that I draw the biggest comparison in
Oscar’s career is Ike Quartey because Mayorga is as tough and as
strong as Ike. Many people believe Oscar received a gift
decision that night (in several other fights too). The
difference is Oscar has not fought in a tough fight since.
Mayorga will force Oscar into a fight in the trenches and Oscar
will be saying so long and goodnight. The sad thing about this
fan fight is that no matter what we say, the winner of the fight
on Saturday will decide the outcome because that is the history
of fan fight."

"What does Mayorga's headgames have
to do with anything? if anything, it shows that's what he needs
to do since he can';t be quiet and go into the fight with his
boxing ability on his own, It shows he needs to do much more
than that and play games to try and frustrate Oscar, but when
has that ever happened in DeLaHoya's career? Vargas was
unsuccessful in his tactics prefight. You can in no way compare
Ike Quartey to Mayorga! You migth as well be comparing McNeeley
to Tyson. Ike Quartey is a great fighter who uses his jab and
that's his number 1 weapon, Mayorga is a street fighter with
power bombs from odd angles and never on his feet, usually on
his back heels. Ike is on his toes constantly. You cant compare
a real boxer with a slugging non-skilled fighter. Mayorga is
going to lose this pretty one sidedly. Oscar is a real fighter
and Mayorga will find out come Saturday. He has no real skill to
be honest, he's just tough with a big punch and got lucky vs a
careless Forrest. I mean, Mayorga couldnt even beat weak ass
Spinks and DeLaHoya's skills surpass Spinks' BY FAR! Oscar not
fighting a tough fight since the Ike fight? He fought Tito, he
fought Vargas, hell, Sturm and Hopkins ring a bell, you're nuts
if you dont consider those tough opponents. Ok, let the fight
decide."

* Ladies And Gentlemen, This Fight Has Come To An End Here In The 3rd
As The DeLaHoya vs. Mayorga Results Have Stamped An Automatic
Knockout On This One And Travis In No Longer Able To Continue. Your
Winner By TKO,
CHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEAAAAPPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Cheapo, a good tough fight for both of you, pretty even after the 1st
two rounds, then the 3rd being the telling round of the fight. Give us
your thoughts on this fight and what's next?
Cheapo:
A good fight, I
believe Travis will be back. As far as this fight, it just goes to show
that the accomplishments and credibility Oscar had over Mayorga who
really never established himself as anything special. Oscar is special.
I'll be back soon.
Travis, give us your thoughts on this fight and how soon will you be
back?
Travis Landon:
Cheapo can credit De La Hoya for allowing him the victory as he would
not have been able to win this fan fight if it were done one week
prior. My bad for taking a topic that would not go to a decision. I'll
be back soon to take this thing down.
