Thompson Boxing
Introduces "NEW BLOOD"
Story & Photos By William Trillo
The show that went down in Ontario was
aptly named "New Blood" as the Southern California fight
fans were infused with one of the hottest prospects in The
Frank Espinosa stable.
In the feature bout undefeated Luis
Ramos took on journeyman Celestino Rodriguez and the highly
touted Ramos did not disappoint.
Ramos started fast and before Rodriguez
could break a sweat he found himself laying against the
ropes as he fell victim to the power of Ramos who now has 5
KO's in his 6 victories.
That was all there was as the ref waved
it off at 2:30 of round one.
In a welterweight scrap Mauricio Herrera
knocked Antonio Soria from pillar to post for almost the
entire 4 rounds.
Credit to Soria who took a lickin' but
kept on tickin' but was shotout by Herrera 40-36 0n all
cards.
In a heavyweight tilt Hildo Silva and
Andrae Carthon battled to a majority decision draw.
In the opening bout featherweight Edgar
Jauregi hit the deck early and it looked like Saul Arias was
going to make a successful pro debut.
That was up until the third round when
Jauregi clipped Arias with a nice right hand that had him
out before he hit the deck. This one was halted at 2:53 of
3.
