A press conference was held at Gallagher’s Steak House in Manhattan in New York City on Wednesday, to officially announce the long awaited world heavyweight title fight between the two combatants.

Peter stated: “I want to fight his brother (Wladimir) because I didn’t lose the fight. I don’t even want to fight him (Vitali). That’s why I want him so quick. So I can fight his brother (Wladimir). He’s a bum. He’s never fought anybody like me. I will knockout Vitali. I am sure it will not go past six rounds.”

When asked why a comeback after 4 years Vitali stated countered: “I didn’t lose my world title. It was an unlucky injury. On record I have two losses because of an injury. When asked if it will go the distance Vitali response was If you see my record and his record. I don’t think the fight will be by decision. Not all twelve rounds. I used my status “emeritus champion” to fight directly for a world title. To take my title back.”

The Peter vs Klitschko showdown will be televised by Showtime and the telecast will also include the light heavyweight shoot-out between IBF Champion Antonio Tarver (27-4, 19 KOs) and the young, undefeated superstar Chad Dawson (26-0, 17 KOs) that is being hosted the same day at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas
